The Zotye Y100 Plus was introduced to Egypt in 2018 and was known at the time as the cheapest electric car. It made its debut at the Cairo International Motor Show, Automech Formula. It was launched in Egypt at a price of EGP 325,000, with the company's agent at the time, IFG Group. The car was launched at the show alongside electric models from other brands, including the Hyundai Ioniq, Renault Twizy, Chevrolet Bolt, Zotye T300, and Tesla cars. The Zotye Y100 Plus was distinguished by its relatively small size, distinctive design, and 100% electric power. IFG Group launched it alongside a number of other Zotye electric vehicles, such as the T33, as the company sought to align with government plans focused on reducing emissions and limiting environmental pollution. The car remained available in Egypt until 2020, where its price increased over time to EGP 515,000, before being reduced to EGP 465,000. The car also came in two colors: white, with a red roof and blue accents on the body.

Zotye introduced the Y100 Plus electric car in Egypt with an electric motor producing a maximum output of 27 kW (37 hp) and a maximum torque of 140 Nm, enabling it to travel a distance of 250 km on a single battery charge. The car also features a single-speed automatic transmission, a natural air-cooled system, and four-wheel drive. The battery can be fully charged in 12 hours and 45 minutes, reaching its maximum capacity. The car's top speed is 100 km/h. The car consumes 11 kWh, is powered by an AC synchronous motor, and has a lithium-ion battery with natural air cooling. There are no real tests of the car in Egypt to determine its capabilities and performance, nor are there many tests abroad to demonstrate the engine's capabilities. However, compared to today's electric cars, the range is extremely limited, the charging time is very long, and the speed is slow, with weak horsepower (only 37 hp) and better torque.

The car features good interior materials and a distinctive cabin design with numerous technologies and various screens, ensuring comfort inside the car. The seats are comfortable, distinctively designed, and feature high-quality, comfortable materials.

The front seats are good and spacious for the driver and front passenger, with a rear bench that comfortably seats two people, each with a headrest. The space between the front and rear seats isn't large, considering it's a small hatchback, but it's not too bad, ultimately.

Spare parts for the Zotye Y100 Plus are not widely available in the market due to the car's almost non-existent nature. Even the dealership has difficulty providing spare parts for it unless requested. The company announced the suspension of its operations in China due to bankruptcy and numerous issues. It has only recently resumed operations in the same manner as before. Consequently, spare parts were unavailable throughout the previous period due to the problems facing the parent company.

The car relies on an independent McPherson strut front suspension and a trailing arm rear suspension. The car's performance is fairly good on the roads and there are no complaints about the suspension, with the car having a fairly suitable height off the ground.

The Zotye Y100 Plus did not achieve widespread popularity in Egypt because it was at the beginning of the era of electric cars in Egypt, as there was no demand to buy it yet at the time of its launch. In addition to being electric, it was Chinese and from a new agency, in light of the difficulty of complete trust in a Chinese electric car, in addition to its high price compared to traditional cars at that time, which made the idea of buying it a risk that had no meaning. Therefore, the company did not provide it in circulation in Egypt, but it was only by request due to the difficulty of providing quantities of it and selling it locally. Therefore, what was sold in the Egyptian market was a small, limited number, and its resale was very slow, and its presence was basically rare.
