The Skoda Scala is a small family car or compact hatchback, positioned between the Fabia and Octavia. It was first introduced globally in December 2018, and sales officially began on January 5, 2019. The name Scala means "ladder" in Latin, and the company considers it a major step forward in the compact car segment, replacing the Rapid models in the local market.

Kayan Egypt, the local agent for the Skoda and SEAT brands in Egypt, announced the launch of the Scala for the first time in Egypt in 2021 in two trim levels, initially priced at the following:

Ambition: EGP 355,000.

Style: EGP 420,000.

The car subsequently experienced several price increases, and its availability was discontinued for periods, with resurgence and subsequent disappearance due to the economic conditions the Egyptian market has experienced since its introduction. The Škoda Scala features the familiar, distinctive Škoda design with sporty touches, LED headlights, LED daytime running lights, LED taillights in the top-of-the-range trim, and a sporty overall feel.

The Skoda Scala is powered by a 1.6-liter MPi four-cylinder engine, producing 110 hp and 155 Nm of torque. It's mated to a reliable six-speed automatic transmission. The car uses front-wheel drive and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 11.8 seconds. Its top speed is 188 km/h, and its average fuel consumption is approximately 6.2 liters per 100 km.

It's a reliable car with a traditional armored engine that provides safety and protection, along with a reliable, intelligent, and easily responsive transmission. A 50-liter fuel tank helps it travel long distances while achieving very economical fuel consumption, extending the distance covered. A sport mode is available, which slightly increases its sporty performance compared to its traditional counterpart.

The car's drawbacks are that acceleration isn't strong, and the car's initial acceleration is somewhat slow. This may be appropriate for its class, given that it isn't primarily a sports car, but rather a family car with a sporty design and a traditional, reliable, turbo-free propulsion system with limited power.
