Lifan 520 2009-2013

The Lifan 520 is a compact sedan or hatchback manufactured by Lifan Motors, a subsidiary of the parent company Lifan Group. The Lifan 520 is the first car manufactured by Lifan Motors and was launched in China in 2006 at the Beijing Auto Show and continued in production until 2012. The car is based on the Citroën ZX chassis but has a body and interior design specific to the Lifan 520, which is a four-door sedan as it is known in Egypt. Hatchback versions of it were also produced outside Egypt and were also available in Egypt. The car was sold in China and other markets, such as Russia, and carried various names, such as the Lifan Breeze.

The car was launched in the Middle East and made its debut in Egypt at the Automech Exhibition in 2009. The sole agent in Egypt was the Saudi Group. The hatchback version was introduced in 2010 at a price of EGP 64,000. The car was offered in Egypt in three trim levels: DX, LX, and EX.

Then, in 2013, the company decided to launch the Lifan 530 in Egypt instead of the Lifan 520 due to the cessation of assembly in China. The Lifan 530 was offered in the Egyptian market for a very short period but did not continue.

Motor

The sedan version of the car is powered by a 1.3-liter, 4-cylinder engine producing 90 hp, and another 1.6-liter engine producing 105 hp and 149 Nm of torque at 4,500 rpm. Both are mated to a 5-speed manual transmission that transmits power to the front wheels. A 5-speed automatic transmission is also available. The car can accelerate from 0 to 60 km/h in 13 seconds and reach a top speed of 170 km/h. The Lifan 520i hatchback version is available in Egypt with the same engines. The car is considered fairly fuel-efficient, with a combined fuel consumption between 6 and just under 7 liters per 100 km. The car's drawbacks include the harsh, violent engine noise evident inside the cabin, which also means that insulation is not good due to the high engine vibrations. As for the engine itself, its performance is average, and there are no general complaints about the car's performance or engine.

The Lifan 520 has a total length of 4,370 mm, a width of 1,700 mm, and a height of 1,473 mm, with a wheelbase of 2,540 mm and a curb weight of 1,110 kg. The car offers a rear cargo space of 369 liters, and the car has a turning radius of 5.5 meters. The car has a comfortable and fairly spacious cabin, especially in the front, with complaints that the rear seats are not as comfortable as the front seats. The main drawback of the car's cabin is the poor quality of the materials used, especially the interior accessories and dashboard, which is a common complaint when it comes to the car's interior.

Spare Parts

30%

Spare parts for the Lifan 520 are very rare because the car itself is rare in the Egyptian market and there is no demand for it. Therefore, providing spare parts for it will not be profitable for dealers, and its prices are average, and alternatives are used for it due to the lack of maintenance centers available for it.

Suspension

80%

The car is characterized by its stability on the road, according to the car's owners, and there were no complaints about the car's suspension, ground clearance, or stability. The car's ground clearance of 143 mm is not the highest in its class, and therefore it may not be the best car for handling bumps.

The limited models available of Lifan 520 in Egypt are spread between the 2007 and 2008 models in Egypt. Lifan has disappeared from the new car market in Egypt, but it is present in the used car market in a small way. It can be said that the low demand for it and the difficulty of reselling it were due to the rumors that dealt with Lifan models during that period due to what was said to be numerous problems in the cars and due to the agent’s poor handling of them and the complaints of many owners about the level of quality of the car’s closure and the poor design, especially in the rear section, which combined to make the car’s resale very weak.

Security
