Before the ban, Automotive Jet Egypt attempted to dispose of its inventory by significantly reducing the car's price by more than EGP 20,000. The car was available in four models, with a starting price of approximately EGP 141,000, but its initial price was between EGP 124,000 for the 5-passenger version and EGP 154,000 for the 7-passenger version.
Before the dealership was closed, the Consumer Protection Agency had managed to return 36 cars out of a total of 1,800 sold due to major manufacturing defects.

The Komodo was introduced in Egypt with a Mitsubishi L4 SOHC 16V MPI 2.4-liter engine. This powerful 4-cylinder engine is available with 4WD and 2WD drivetrains, and both automatic and manual transmissions. The engine delivers 125 hp at 5,250 rpm and 196 Nm of torque between 2,500 and 3,000 rpm.
The engine's drawbacks are that it was outdated at the time of its introduction, as it uses older Mitsubishi technology. Its horsepower is limited to 125 hp for a car this large. It is considered a weak engine with weak traction, with the engine noise evident inside the car. Its top speed is limited to 160 km/h. It also comes with a 73-liter fuel tank.
The car's official fuel consumption is 7.5 liters per 100 km, but car owners have complained that the fuel consumption rate is much higher than this figure.
External dimensions of the car:
Length 4750 mm
Width 1790 mm
Height 1735 mm
Wheelbase 2850 mm
The manual car weighs 1670 kg and the automatic 1780 kg.
The car is spacious, especially since it can comfortably seat seven people. The seats can also be folded to increase storage space. However, the car's interior is poorly constructed and made of plastic. The car's seats are uncomfortable. It is a poorly equipped car with few luxuries, and its main strength is its spacious cabin.
Commod spare parts are very rare in Egypt and can be obtained imported or from very limited dealers in the market. They are not widely available and their prices are somewhat high. Most spare parts are currently traded used among car owners.
The ground clearance is 202 mm, which is adequate for handling Egyptian roads and bumps. The car features an independent A-arm front suspension and a torsion bar rear suspension. However, there are complaints about the car's suspension, which is uncomfortable and not of high quality, although it is expected to be a suitable car for roads with problems due to its height and the car's apparent solidity.
The Commod model became popular in Egypt between 2008 and 2011 in the used market, but it has a limited resale market. The most popular model in the Egyptian market is the 2009 model, and resale has been slow due to the numerous problems it encountered. In 2010, sales of the car were halted in Egypt due to a technical report detailing numerous manufacturing problems. The results of the technical report, prepared by the Engineering Consulting, Training, and Production Center at the Faculty of Engineering at Helwan University, indicated that the car had numerous manufacturing defects that could harm the interests and safety of consumers.
Thirty-six of the 1,800 cars sold in Egypt were recalled due to major manufacturing defects before the agent closed and left the Egyptian market, leaving the Commodo cars with their problems and defects in the hands of customers.
The car doesn't have many safety features, but it has a strong exterior and several safety features, including:
Alarm
ABS brakes
Airbags
Central locking
Stabilization system
Automatic door locking after exceeding 20 km/h
EBD
