Hyundai Solaris Car Review

The Hyundai Solaris features a 1.4-liter, 16-valve, 4-cylinder engine with a CVVT system, producing 107 hp at 6,300 rpm and 135 lb-ft of torque at 5,000 rpm. It's mated to a four-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive.

The car is among the best in its class in terms of fuel economy, at 5.9 liters per 100 km. It is front-wheel drive and has a top speed of 183 km/h. The sedan and hatchback models share the same engine and performance.

The car achieves good acceleration performance, but it's not the best in its class, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 12.9 seconds. It also has a 43-liter fuel tank.

The Gamma engine's performance is lower than the Accent RB's, but combined with the transmission, it delivers good, smooth performance, though not as powerful as the Accent RB. Ultimately, the car is smooth to drive and has good traction, but its performance isn't the best in its class in terms of acceleration and speed, nor is it based on the car's basic concept of targeting young people.

The car has good sealing with seats that aren't the most comfortable. Some owners complain about the poor quality of the interior materials, claiming they are cheap. Although the interior design is good and surpasses competing models, the materials aren't the best, and it offers good sound insulation against external noise and less tire and engine noise.

The car is also equipped with a range of amenities, including a high-quality radio that can receive AM/FM broadcasts, an MP3 player that can be controlled from the steering wheel, an iPod/USB audio input, and a Bluetooth phone system.

It also has good trunk space and multiple interior storage spaces.

Hyundai Solaris spare parts are somewhat available but not as widely available as other more popular Hyundai models that are still available in the Egyptian market. This is because the Hyundai Solaris hasn't been in the Egyptian market for a long time and its availability at dealerships is currently less due to the car being discontinued for some time. However, spare parts can be found and are not non-existent and their prices are average. There are also many spare parts shared with Hyundai Accent models that can be relied upon in the car.

The car comes with an independent MacPherson strut front suspension with a stabilizer bar and a torsion beam rear suspension. It also offers stability at high speeds thanks to the advanced MacPherson strut front suspension. It also has a good ground clearance, making it good at handling bumps on Egyptian roads.

Owners confirm that the car enjoys good stability at high speeds, but there are complaints about the rear of the car. Some say that it vibrates violently at high speeds due to the large rear section, while others confirm that the car is unstable at high speeds on uneven roads and during turns.

The Hyundai Solaris is less powerful than its sister model, the Accent RB, which has made it less popular than the Accent, which is considered an older and more enduring name, and has led to lower Solaris sales. In addition, the fact that it is manufactured in Russia has made it less popular than the regular Accent. When comparing the period in which the Solaris was introduced with the period in which the Accent was present, we find that the Solaris was discontinued shortly after its introduction, while the Accent is still present to this day, whether in the locally assembled version or the imported version, which is introduced periodically and stops for a while and then returns again. Therefore, the resale of the Hyundai Accent is very good, while the Hyundai Solaris is less widespread and slower to resale, but the Hyundai name ultimately gives it a market and sales movement, even if it is not strong.  

The Hyundai Solaris is a safe car and comes with good brakes, including 14-inch ventilated front discs and 14-inch solid rear discs. The Hyundai Solaris also features several advanced safety features, including an engine immobilizer, an anti-lock braking system (ABS) and an EBD, driver and front passenger airbags, and a rear cross-traffic alert system.

The safety features are as follows, depending on the trim level:

First trim: GL Active

ABS and EBD brakes, an immobilizer, driver and front passenger airbags, seat height adjustment, a central locking system, an alarm, and remote control.

Second trim: Active Plus
