The Great Wall Hover is a family SUV introduced in 2007 in Egypt. Local assembly began in 2010 and continued in Egypt for the 2011 model year, continuing until 2014. The Great Wall Hover is a beautiful car with a distinctive design and weak bumpers. It is manufactured by the Chinese company Great Wall, which is known for manufacturing various types of cars. This car is also known by many other names, such as: Great Wall Haval (H3) and Great Wall (X240). In general, this car first appeared in 2005 and achieved great success, especially in Europe, due to its very low cost compared to other competing cars.
The Hover Luxury four-wheel-drive manual model was priced at EGP 155,900 in 2014, while the two-wheel-drive model was priced at EGP 145,900, and the Great Wall "Hover" manual was priced at EGP 135,900 in the local market. Prices were previously higher, in 2009, for example, at EGP 175,000, while the 2008 model was priced at EGP 160,000.
A disagreement arose over the car's agent in Egypt, and the car suffered from controversy over its dealership throughout its introduction in Egypt. The controversy surrounding its dealership began with an unknown company called Al-Haramain Company, followed by Ezz Al-Arab, which turned out not to be the Hover dealership, but rather the Perry dealership, and finally, the Bavarian Auto dealership, which was the last dealership for the car. The car was imported in seven-seat versions, and upon local assembly, it was offered with only five seats and 40% local components. It was offered with a three-year or 60,000 km warranty from the Bavarian Group.
The car suffered from the failure of dealerships to market it well locally, which led to its failure to achieve significant success in Egypt.
