Zotye T600 2017-2019

The Zotye T600 Coupe is a compact SUV introduced in Egypt as a youth car in 2017 at the Automech Formula exhibition. It continued until 2019 and was offered in two categories: Egypt Royal and Flagship. The coupe version of the car attracted great interest, especially among young people, due to its sporty design, distinctive appearance, and luxurious interior equipment, along with a competitive price at the time of its launch. The car was presented with an eye-catching youthful design inspired by the Volkswagen Tiguan and Audi Q5. The exterior design also focused on modernity, which was evident in the prominent use of daytime running lights at the front, as well as the dividing line between the roof and the rear fender, a modern trend, as seen on the sides. The design goal of the car, as the name T600 Coupe suggests, was to highlight its sporty side. Hence, the rear end received a noticeable slope angle in the D-pillar of the tailgate, giving it a dynamic, sporty look.

The Zotye T600 Coupe is available in four trim levels in Egypt. It features a 1.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine producing 156 hp at 5,600 rpm and 207 Nm of torque between 2,400 and 4,800 rpm. It is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission with manual shifting and front-wheel drive. The Zotye T600 is front-wheel drive, with acceleration in 9.5 seconds and a top speed of 180 km/h. The Zotye T600's fuel consumption is 8.4 liters per 100 km, which is average but tends to be high. It also comes with a 60-liter fuel tank. The car boasts a powerful engine, but its drawbacks are its average but high fuel consumption. The car's weight, at 1,600 kg, reduces performance and makes the engine somewhat sluggish during acceleration. Performance improves at higher revs. The car's manual transmission is also somewhat slow, but ultimately, it's considered a good performance for the car in its class. Although the numbers suggest better performance, the weight and transmission reduce the performance.

The Zotye T600 Coupe's interior design features modern details that give it an elegant and attractive appearance, breaking with the traditional style. The dashboard features a single-frame instrument panel and main control screen. A flat-bottomed steering wheel also features a sporty look. The car features high-quality trim materials, especially in the higher trim levels, along with numerous leather upholstery, a panoramic sunroof, and a variety of other features. The car has good interior space, especially in the front, with less rear space, but it can accommodate three passengers and lacks a transmission tunnel. The car also offers ample rear storage space, making it suitable for families. Although its official number, 344, appears small, it actually feels larger. It also features large glass areas and very few blind spots.

The car's drawbacks include the small size of its dashboard, the many buttons, and their difficult-to-reach position. The entertainment system is also slow and somewhat primitive. The car's drawbacks include the low roof, which sits close to the head level of the driver and rear passengers in particular. The car's air insulation, engine noise, and tire noise are also poor.

Zoty T600 spare parts are not widely available outside the dealership, as the Zotye brand has been discontinued in Egypt recently due to problems related to the parent company in China, and their prices are average.

The car is offered with a ground clearance of 178 mm, making it suitable for handling Egyptian roads. It also has an independent McPherson strut front suspension and an independent multi-link rear suspension. The car is characterized by very soft suspension and absorbs bumps and road imperfections in cities, but on highways, the body leans with road imperfections even on straight roads and at high speeds. It also increases the feeling of maneuvering at high speeds. It also features heavy steering on highways, which helps increase the car's control on these roads.

The Zotye T600's resale value is limited, as it doesn't have as much exposure in Egypt as other competing models from Korea, Japan, and even China. The car's poor resale value is due to the unavailability of new models in Egypt, as the local Zotye dealer stopped selling the car due to problems with the parent company in China, which subsequently filed for bankruptcy. Despite this, the car is considered one of the best in the Zotye resale market in Egypt. Resale value is not very profitable, and it has several issues that have led to a decline in its sales in the resale market. These include damage to the exhaust manifold and malfunctioning steering wheel controls. Other issues include peeling of the leather seat upholstery and the need to replace the shock absorbers.
