Ssang Yong Tivoli XLV 2016 - 2022 Review

The car features a 1.6-liter, non-turbo, 4-cylinder engine with 128 hp at 6,000 rpm and 160 Nm of torque at 4,600 rpm. It is also available with a 6-speed automatic transmission. These specifications help the car reach 100 km/h in 12.7 seconds and a top speed of 185 km/h with front-wheel drive.

The car performs well, responding to all driving requirements on the road with the quick and smooth response of the 6-speed automatic transmission. The cabin's drawbacks:

Among its drawbacks, despite its weight, is that there is a noticeable body roll at speed, and the steering is not very good and has unclear points.

The car is considered a good value for money, with its reasonable price, numerous features, and Korean manufacture. It has been a reliable car since 2016 and is available in Egypt without common malfunctions. However, it is not among the most distinguished cars for resale because it has not achieved widespread popularity, especially in light of the recent decline in European car prices, their proximity to Korean prices, and the shift away from SsangYong cars after they began to gain popularity for a certain period of time. Furthermore, the problems facing the global company, its bankruptcy, and its search for a buyer after Mahindra India abandoned it, have prevented the local agent from offering models other than the Tivoli and XLV, helping to increase the popularity of the Korean brand in Egypt.

The car was also affected by numerous rumors about it being a Chinese car, and the company launched a campaign to highlight its Korean, not Chinese, origin, which affected its resale value for a period of time.

The car has good brakes and a very strong body which justifies its heavy weight. However, previous versions of the car before the facelift did not come without electronic stability control, which is one of its biggest drawbacks. However, in the subsequent facelift and newer versions, electronic stability control was added to avoid this problem in the higher class. Another drawback is that it comes with two airbags in the high-end trim and only one in the entry-level trim.
