Seat Arona 2018-2022

The SEAT Arona is a subcompact crossover SUV in the B-segment manufactured globally by SEAT since 2017. It is the smallest SUV offered by the Spanish brand, positioned below the SEAT Ateca and SEAT Tarraco. The car was first shown in Barcelona and then at the Frankfurt Motor Show in Germany. It is based on the same platform as the SEAT Ibiza, which is also the platform used by the Volkswagen Polo, T-Cross, and Skoda Kamiq. It is similar to the SEAT Ibiza, but its height has been adjusted, transforming it into a crossover. The SEAT Arona made its debut in Egypt in 2018 through its agent, Kayan Egypt, with a warranty against manufacturing defects for 5 years or 100,000 km, whichever comes first. It was first available in 2017 in three trim levels: Refrance, priced at EGP 319,000. Style, priced at EGP 345,000. FR, priced at EGP 375,000. In 2020, new equipment was added to the SEAT Arona FR, with a EGP 10,000 price increase ahead of the 2021 facelift. The SEAT Arona FR is now priced at EGP 359,900, up from EGP 350,000 after the new equipment was added to the pre-facelift version. The SEAT Arona competes in a segment that is currently in high demand in Egypt because it is affordable, economical, and a crossover at the same time. The car also boasts a beautiful design with traditional SEAT touches and inspiration from the Spanish company's popular smaller models. The car competes with the Ford EcoSport, Opel Mokka, Renault Captur, Peugeot 2008, and Nissan Juke.

The car comes with a 1600cc engine producing 110 hp at 5800 rpm and 155 Nm of torque at 4000 rpm, mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. The top speed is 181 km/h (114 mph), enabling it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 11.5 seconds, with an average fuel consumption of 6 liters/100 km. Its top speed exceeds 180 km/h (114 mph). It has a 40-liter fuel tank.

The SEAT Arona offers a traditional 1600cc engine without a turbo, thus avoiding turbo problems and making it more reliable. The engine performance isn't the best and doesn't offer strong sporty performance, but it's suitable for the car's purpose: a small family crossover, not a sports car. However, competitors in this class have better performance figures. One of the car's problems is the engine's full power and torque output at higher revs, which reduces its performance. However, it attempts to offset this problem with its light weight, which makes it faster, even though the engine isn't the best. The engine's sluggishness is apparent during initial acceleration, but after assembly, speed increases and performance improves, providing optimal performance at medium and high speeds, not low ones. The car has a sport mode that improves engine response.

The transmission is a standard 6-speed automatic with front-wheel drive. The traditional transmission is reliable and devoid of any innovations, but it is intelligent and can respond quickly to driver demands. Although it isn't the fastest in response, its performance is good, and it's a smooth shifter that the driver doesn't feel. It also delivers excellent fuel economy with the engine. Despite its 1600cc displacement, it achieves very good fuel consumption, averaging 6 to 7 liters per 100 km. On highways, these figures are lower.

The SEAT Arona measures 4,138 mm in length, 1,780 mm in width, and 1,552 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,566 mm. Its trunk capacity is 400 liters, and its curb weight is 1,194 kg.

The cabin is designed to provide comfort for both front and rear passengers through a range of interior features and enhancements. For sporty enthusiasts, the FR version offers a special touch, from the sporty red logo and stitching to the sports seat design. The FR cabin design is sporty and features distinctive, sharp lines.

As for the car's interior space, the front headroom is good, with adjustable seat positions. The driver's seat is slightly elevated, offering a clear view of the road. Rear space is good and better than its competitors, but the rear bench can only accommodate two passengers and a child due to the high transmission tunnel in the middle.

Storage space in the rear of the car is large, reaching 400 liters, which is a good number. This increases when the rear seats are folded down. There are also average interior storage spaces.

The interior materials contain a lot of plastic, and even the leather used in the higher trim levels on the dashboard isn't the best, as the car tends toward economical materials.

The glass areas are large and provide a clearer view of the road. Forward visibility is better, with small pillars and few blind spots. Rear visibility is strong, with the only drawback being if there is a tall person in the middle in the back, as this reduces the driver's view. The visibility in the mirrors isn't the best because they're small, but it's not bad.

It also offers an easy-to-use and attractively designed infotainment system with many functions and services, and the seats are comfortable.

The insulation in the car is very good, and you don't feel road or suspension noise on bumps and bumps, and you don't hear the wind noise in an annoying way except at high speeds. The engine noise is annoying when you push it, especially in Sport mode.

Like other SEAT models, SEAT Arona spare parts are expensive and not widely available outside the dealership, except in a few European centers specializing in SEAT. There have been complaints about significantly higher prices for spare parts, especially headlights, bumpers, and other exterior parts. However, this doesn't negatively impact the car's maneuverability and response in turns, especially in steering. It achieves good road stability in fast turns. However, there is some leaning in turns and maneuvers, which is normal with a comfortable suspension, but this doesn't lead to the car tipping over in turns. Performance is balanced, with great maneuverability. Increasing the suspension stiffness would have increased stability in turns, but it would have reduced comfort inside the car.

Higher trims offer the XDS system, which improves vehicle stability in turns for front-wheel drive cars and reduces steering problems. This results in better vehicle stability in turns, better traction, and allows the car to go where the driver wants it to go, placing more weight on the opposite side of the turn.

The car's stability is good on straight roads, and the suspension The car tends to be sporty and provides stability, but you feel it on strong bumps. The suspension is comfortable in the front, and some noise is evident in the bumps in the rear, and it is less comfortable in the rear.
