The first generation of the Hyundai Santa Fe was launched in Egypt many years ago, in the late 1990s and early 2000s, with the most popular model being released in 2003. The car was known as a better vehicle for families. Itamco Hyundai unveiled the next-generation Santa Fe in Egypt in 2006, presented as a mid-size SUV larger than the Tucson. It was produced locally at the company's Abu Rawash plant.

The second generation of the car was introduced in Egypt with four-wheel drive, featuring features that focused on passenger comfort and increased driving enjoyment, as well as an improved design at the time of its introduction. It featured a completely new design compared to the first generation, with a streamlined front bumper designed to help stabilize the car at high speeds, along with an attractive, sporty appearance that enhanced the sense of safety.

The car was equipped with headlights that combined efficiency, enhancing visibility, with a modern, elegant appearance. They were equipped with a transparent crystal cover for better visibility. The rear of the car enhances its sporty appearance with stylish taillights that provide better light for enhanced visibility. The rear spoiler also features an LED stop light.

The car achieves a combined fuel consumption of approximately 2013. 9.8 liters per 100 km for the 3300 cc version and 8.8 liters per 100 km for the 2400 cc version. The car's top speed is 200 km/h.

The car offers various interior storage spaces in the doors and the car, with ample storage space behind the second row when the second row is folded, but the space becomes limited when the third row is folded.

The car's drawbacks are its large engines, which consume more fuel than conventional engines, which have varied over the generations in Egypt between 2700, 3300, 3500, and 2400 cc.
