The Ford EcoSport is a small, sub-compact crossover SUV suitable for small families, young people, and women. It's known for its limited interior space compared to higher-end SUV models, including its sister, the Ford Kuga. The new generation of the Ford EcoSport was introduced in Egypt in 2018 and continued until 2022. It is not available in Egypt in 2023, and may be offered again in the near future.
The small, sub-compact SUV was offered in four trims in Egypt when it was first introduced to the local market, with a fifth trim not offered. Over time, the number of trims was reduced to just two.
The Ford EcoSport's first trim, "Base," was available at EGP 269,900, while the second trim, "Trend," was priced at EGP 289,900. The third trim, "Sport," was priced at EGP 289,900. At a price of EGP 319,900, the fourth category, "Titanium," reached approximately EGP 359,900. Later, the Ford EcoSport family trim was reduced to two equipment categories, with an official price starting at EGP 505,000 for the standard Trend Plus trim. The second, more equipped Sport Plus trim was offered at EGP 570,000, and prices subsequently increased.
Manufactured at Ford's Romanian plant, the car was a strong competitor in the small SUV category, successfully outperforming the Jeep Renegade, Fiat 500X, Opel Crossland, Peugeot 2008, Hyundai Creta, and Renault Captur models in Egypt for a period before the arrival of the MG ZS, which succeeded in seizing control of this category.
