The French-made Citroën DS3 was launched in Egypt in 2011 for EGP 184,800 with a three-year warranty or 100,000 km when new. The price increased to EGP 189,900 in 2013. The car belongs to the small car category of the French Peugeot Citroën group. Production of the car began in March 2010, and a convertible version was introduced in 2013. The car is considered a primary competitor to the Mini Cooper and Alfa Romeo Mito. Based on the second-generation Citroën C3, the car differs in design with a range of special options and visual changes, such as a two-tone exterior color. In 2016, the DS brand became an independent brand, and the car was no longer under the Citroën brand. However, it received an improved version. Initially, the car was available with petrol and diesel engines, including the THP 200 with 207 hp and the THP 155 with 51 hp less power than the original model.
