Changan Alsvin 2021 - 2023 Review

The car is powered by a 1.4-liter, 4-cylinder engine with 101 hp and 135 Nm of torque, mated to a 5-speed manual and automatic transmissions. Automatic versions are available with a 1.5-liter engine with 107 hp and 145 Nm of torque, and a 5-speed DCT automatic transmission.

There are no complaints about the car's engine or transmission. The engine is considered a reliable, traditional engine with performance suitable for an economy car. Therefore, it doesn't offer strong sporty performance, but it does provide good responsiveness and a smooth handling, along with smooth steering. The transmission performs well and smoothly, and the car accelerates smoothly at startup, despite the dual-clutch transmission. The automatic transmission also has a manual mode.

The car is 4390 mm long, 1725 mm wide, and 1490 mm high, with a trunk capacity of 382 liters.

The trunk space is good, and the cabin storage space is average. The trunk appears larger than the official figures, with good depth and a slightly high loading height.

The rear seat space is good, and there's a significant gap between the rear seat and the front seat. The headroom is also good, meaning there's plenty of room in the cabin. There's no transmission tunnel, so the car is comfortable for three people in the back.

The car's drawback is its reliance on numerous plastic materials, which is expected in the entry-level model at least, but there are chrome, leather, and piano black accents in the entry-level model, increasing in the remaining models. Another drawback of the first-class model is the lack of rear air conditioning vents or USB ports.

The instrument panel is clear and has all the necessary details, along with an elegant 3-spoke steering wheel with black piano finishes. The seats inside are comfortable, and the air conditioning is strong.

The car's insulation is good, except for the wind noise caused by the sunroof. The visibility in the side mirrors is good, as is the view in the interior mirror. However, the screen in the higher-class models doesn't offer many options, but it is elegant.

Changan Alsvin spare parts are available in many places but they are not widely spread as some customers who own the car still complain about the difficulty of obtaining some parts whether from the agency itself or outside it. The reason for the lack of spread of spare parts is that the car has not yet achieved widespread in the market, but spare parts are available at some specialized dealers. The mechanical parts are available inside and outside the agency to some extent, but the external parts are more available at the agency itself and it is difficult to find them outside the agency. The prices of spare parts are average.

The Turing Beam suspension provides the car with good road stability, especially in straight lines, and stability in turns is also good. The car's suspension is considered somewhat dry to provide the appropriate stability for such a family car, primarily due to the short length of the shock absorbers. The car's ground clearance is also somewhat adequate for handling bumps and heavy loads, but it is not the best possible ground clearance.

The car is characterized by many good options, good safety, spacious interior, materials suitable for its price, and value for money. It is considered one of the cheapest sedans in Egypt. However, it is not the most popular sedans in its class, perhaps due to its newness to the Egyptian market and the presence of strong competitors in its class. However, it has a medium market and many buyers prefer it over other Japanese, Korean and Chinese options that are older than it in the Egyptian market. The car is also well-known in Arab markets with high selection standards, such as the Saudi market, and is famous there and has strong sales, which is considered a positive point in the car's favor. However, it still has time to achieve strong resale in Egypt, but some complaints appear about parts of the car, especially the battery.
