BMW X7 2020 - 2022 Review

The BMW X7, offered as the M50i, is powered by a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine producing 530 hp and 750 Nm of torque between 1,800 and 4,600 rpm. It's mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission, which transmits power to the road via the xDrive all-wheel-drive system. The car, equipped with permanent all-wheel drive, accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds and has a top speed of 250 km/h. It also features an M differential.

Thanks to its powerful engine, the BMW X7 can reach 100 km/h from a standstill in less than 5 seconds, demonstrating the power of an engine capable of propelling a vehicle of this size. Average fuel consumption is 10.9 liters per 100 km.

The vehicle's overall length is 5,151 mm, its width is 2,000 mm, and its height is 1,805 mm, with a wheelbase of 3,105 mm. With these dimensions, the X7 accommodates its seven passengers and a trunk capacity of 326 cubic liters. This can be increased to 750 liters with the third row of seats folded down, and to 2,120 liters with the second and third rows of seats folded down. It comes with three rows of seats to accommodate seven adults. Therefore, the vehicle's spaciousness is generous and its seating is comfortable.

It also comes with distinctive interior features, most notably a 12.3-inch touchscreen and five-zone climate control. The luxurious three-row seating arrangement is also evident, with third-row passengers enjoying complete comfort without the cramped seating space, including seat size, armrests, cup holders, and USB ports.

The second row comes standard with three connected seats or two separate seats, and all seats are electrically adjustable at the touch of a button. The feeling of luxury is evident inside, with carefully selected and meticulously designed materials, as well as standard features. The car comes standard with Vernasca leather upholstery, a three-section panoramic glass roof, ambient lighting including illuminated welcome mats, a Bowers & Wilkins Diamond surround sound system, and a professional rear-seat entertainment system.

The availability of car spare parts at the dealership is somewhat available, but outside the dealership it is very limited due to the car not being widely spread, in addition to the very high prices of spare parts for this car and the difficulty of maintaining it outside the dealership.

The optimized chassis systems contribute to the vehicle's comfort, agility, and off-road performance, particularly with the adaptive suspension with electronically controlled shock absorbers, which can be controlled at the touch of a button. There's also an active steering system, as well as driving modes for sand, rock, and snow.

Resale of the car is limited in Egypt, and this may be due to the unusually large size in luxury models such as BMW. Also, the availability of this version of the BMW X7 did not continue for a long period, as it started in 2019, and the agent suffered from many problems in the following period and stopped its activity for a long period of time.
