Volvo XC60 2018 - 2021 Review

The car is 4,688 mm long, 1,902 mm wide, and 1,658 mm high, with a 505-liter trunk and a wheelbase of 2,865 mm. The vehicle weighs 2,089 kg. It offers a very spacious and comfortable interior for rear passengers, including legroom and headroom. The same applies to the front seats, where there is ample headroom and legroom for the driver and front passenger. There is also a large, comfortable console with a large armrest.

The car features a giant sunroof, rear air conditioning vents, and two USB charging ports in the rear console. In terms of materials, the car comes with distinctive, flexible leather or fabric interior materials, nickel door handles, and leather doors with LED taillights. The rear bench is divided into two seats and a large central armrest, cup holders, and storage area. The front of the car features a large 12-inch screen and various vertical air conditioning vents, contrasting with the nickel chrome and piano black finishes, and the Nappa leather used on the seats and steering wheel. The car's screen is easy to use and fast, and uses Apple CarPlay and Android Auto with the navigation system. The car also features a clear rearview camera with zoom capability. It also comes with a leather-wrapped gear shifter, a distinctive start-stop button, an electric parking brake, and an auto-hold function to disconnect power from the wheels. The instrument cluster remains unchanged from the previous model, and the colors vary depending on the driving mode.

The car's seats are comfortable and sporty, with upper extensions that relax the shoulders and extensions that increase the seat size in the seating area. They are upholstered in distinctive Nappa leather. The driver's seats are electrically adjustable with lumbar support, and the passenger seat is electrically adjustable with two memory functions for the front seats. There is also an auto-dimming mirror, an electric trunk, and a distinctive interior design with a center console with cupholders and a wireless phone charger.

Insulation is very good, and it significantly insulates the cabin from sound under normal conditions. However, at high speeds, some wind noise is felt. It also has good dual-zone air conditioning, which is controlled from the screen and provides good cooling, with rear air conditioning vents that connect the air conditioning to the rear. Finally, it is available with a Harman Kardon sound system with more than 10 speakers.

Volvo XC60 spare parts are available at the dealership and are scarce outside of it, as the car is not widely available. However, this does not mean that spare parts are not available for it, but it requires some searching. However, most of those who deal with these cars prefer to deal with the dealership and original spare parts because they are expensive luxury cars, and their maintenance requires specialists and is considered difficult outside of the dealership.

The car's suspension is McPherson strut in the front and multi-link in the rear. The suspension's performance is solid, providing it with stability on the roads. It is also agile in handling curves and solid in sharp turns and at high speeds, with limited car lean due to it being an SUV. The car's suspension is also comfortable for passengers and does not cause them problems, with good ground clearance that provides handling on Egyptian roads, and large wheels that help further in feeling comfortable and passing bumps easily.

The Volvo XC60 has a weak resale value due to its high price, high cost of spare parts and maintenance, and resale value is better in favor of Mercedes and BMW. However, it remains among the best contemporary Volvo cars in terms of resale value compared to Volvo sales figures in Egypt.
