Suzuki Celerio 2010-2013

The Suzuki Celerio was first launched in Egypt in mid-2009 at the Automech Akhbar El-Youm exhibition as a 2010 model. The car continued to be offered in the Egyptian market through the 2013 model year. It competes with small-engine vehicles such as the Hyundai i10, Kia Picanto, Chevrolet Spark, and Daihatsu Sirion.

The Suzuki Celerio's design is considered a strong point, setting it apart from many of its competitors, with its vibrant, exciting lines, full of youthful spirit, and dramatic curves. The front of the car features large headlights with a fairly large grille topped by the Suzuki logo and a hood line that extends to slightly conceal the car's headlights.

The side profile is more streamlined than the previous generation of the car, and the rear of the car combines a well-designed design with a beautiful rear spoiler featuring elegant upper brake lights.

As for its categories, it was offered in Egypt in three categories:

Half-Option Manual: 54,900 EGP

Full-Option Manual: 59,900 EGP

Full-Option Automatic: 69,900 EGP.

Reviews - Suzuki Celerio 2010-2013

Motor

70%

The car is powered by a 1000cc, three-cylinder, 12-valve, multi-point injection engine that generates 87 Nm of torque at 3400 rpm and 67 hp at 6000 rpm. The car is front-wheel drive. Its top speed is 155 km/h, and it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 14 seconds. It also comes with a 35-liter fuel tank.

It is the fastest car in its class, with a powerful engine that enables it to accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in just 9.3 seconds, according to official figures from the dealership. This makes the Celerio outperform all its competitors in its class, but car owners confirm that these figures are not realistic.

The Celerio's engine is a lightweight, compact K10B*996 engine, offering good performance considering the car's class and size. This engine has an average fuel consumption rate of 4.4 liters per 100 km, making it very economical. It is a powerful engine designed with the Penta Drive system, KB - Series, which provides efficient power and helps save fuel.

The Celerio uses two transmissions: a five-speed manual and a four-speed automatic, both of which transmit power to the front axle. The car also achieves emissions of 103 g/km.

This car is one of the least fuel-efficient cars, outperforming most competitors, from the Hyundai i10 to the Daihatsu Sirion, due to its small three-cylinder engine.

The car's traction is also average, and the i10 outperforms it, which has more torque and requires increased power to extract more speed, especially when the air conditioning is on and there are more than one person in the car.

Although the car's engine is a three-cylinder, it doesn't experience the same vibrations as other models with similar engines. The gear shifts are smooth, the car is smooth to drive, the engine is quiet, and the steering is good.

The Celerio's cabin is very distinctive, lively and youthful, with many modern and elegant touches, such as the new shape of the instrument panel, which is illuminated in red, and the well-arranged control buttons with a distinctive new design. The car also offers good materials.

Ample storage spaces have been added throughout the cabin for greater practicality, complemented by the ability to fold the rear seats for more luggage space. Despite its compact size, it can easily accommodate four adults.

The rear door has also been enlarged to provide greater ease of entry. The rear wheel hub has also been pushed further back to create more rear interior space, although this affects the luggage compartment, which is small in capacity, along with the small size of the rear window. However, car owners complain about the cramped rear seat, despite the good space in the front, and the low roofline in the rear.

The car's cabin offers many luxuries, equipment, and safety features, with good sealing and reliance on plastic materials. It also comes with good air conditioning.

The Celerio is 3500 mm long, 1600 mm wide, and 1470 mm high, with a wheelbase of 2360 mm. Its weight is 885 kg. The rear trunk capacity is 129 liters, increasing to 367 liters with the rear seats folded down. The car's total storage capacity is 774 liters.

Spare Parts

50%

Car spare parts are scarce and uncommon, as they have only been available in Egypt for a limited period, especially for the exterior parts of the car. Spare parts for cars like the Picanto and Hyundai i10 are more readily available and less expensive due to their availability outside the dealership.

Suspension

70%

The car comes with a MacPherson strut front suspension with coil springs and a 3-link reinforced rear suspension with coil springs. The car's stability is considered good, and its suspension is fairly dry. The car's stability is also good at even moderate speeds. The car's ground clearance is 15 cm, which is appropriate for its class.

It has an attractive, sporty design inside and out, using the latest Aero Dynamics technology, which helps achieve the highest levels of control, stability, and balance while driving.

Resale

50%

The car is available in small numbers in the used car market due to its limited availability and relatively short history in Egypt. Its prices in the used car market range between 90,000 and 110,000 Egyptian pounds. Compared to the Hyundai i10, it commands lower prices in the used car market.

The Celerio struggles in the used car market due to its limited availability and familiarity, as well as the presence of stronger competitors in this category, such as the Hyundai i10, Chevrolet Spark, and Kia Picanto.

The Celerio is distinguished by its sporty looks and excellent fuel economy, but the i10's superiority over it stems from its long-standing presence in the Egyptian market, its greater familiarity with it, and the strength and availability of spare parts for the car. Although the Celerio stands out from its competitors with its sporty rims, ABS and EBD brakes, and airbags, it has failed to achieve strong performance in the used car market due to the small number of cars sold in Egypt.

Security

90%

Although it's a small, low-priced car, it offers excellent safety for its class at the time it was introduced in Egypt, outperforming its competitors. The car features the following:

Two dual SRS airbags in the first half-option trim

Anti-lock braking system (ABS) in the second and third trims

Electronic brake force distribution (EBD) in the second and third trims

Electronic stability control (ESP) is optional

Front ventilated disc brakes and rear drum brakes are excellent at stopping the car, and there are seat belts.
