Subaru XV Car Review

The Subaru has a 1600cc, 114-horsepower boxer engine, similar to the Subaru Impreza's. It's mated to a Lenatronic automatic transmission, which delivers excellent fuel economy, or a manual transmission. The car accelerates to 100 km/h in 16 seconds.

The car's only drawback is that traction isn't fast at the start of the drive, but it improves after speeds of 60 km/h to 120 km/h. It then slows down a bit at higher speeds due to the car's weight. This becomes even more difficult when the air conditioning is on, as the car becomes heavy, especially at the start of the drive. The engine noise is also loud and increases with increasing speed.

The car provides good engine cooling and is reasonably fuel-efficient, but consumption increases significantly when the air conditioning is on or in traffic, as it's a four-wheel-drive vehicle. The engine also lacks armor.

The car offers good interior space in the front and rear, with a length of 4.580 meters, a width of 1.740 meters, and a height of 1.65 meters. It is comfortable for tall people, providing good head, leg, and shoulder room. The car offers comfortable seating positioning, making it very comfortable, especially for long journeys or even when spending extended periods in crowded areas.

The interior has a simple design, especially for the dashboard, which could be a weakness due to the lack of equipment in the dashboard. However, it is made of good materials, and there is a radio cassette player with a screen. The cabin lacks many storage spaces besides the cup holders. But in general, the car's finishing materials are good and distinctive.

The car's drawback is the poor size of the rear storage space, which can be overcome by folding the rear seat to increase storage capacity. Its storage capacity is only 405 liters without folding the rear seats. There are also complaints that the car is a bit cramped compared to its competitors. The car also has good interior upholstery made of distinctive materials, but the car's interior console is good and comfortable.

Spare parts for the car are well available and at reasonable prices, but the external parts are expensive, while the spare parts are durable and long lasting. It is a good Japanese car and has few problems, so it does not need constant maintenance. The car is characterized by its maintenance at long intervals, so you do not spend a lot on maintenance, and the first maintenance that requires changing parts in the engine, such as spark plugs, occurs after a long period of owning a new copy of the car, so spending on car maintenance is not large except in cases of accidents.

The car offers good stability even at high speeds, especially around turns, with its all-wheel drive system, which makes it more grippy than front- or rear-wheel drive cars. It also has a significant ground clearance, making it suitable for use on Egyptian roads and overcoming bumps. It can also be used in some rough terrain due to its distinctive ground clearance.

The car's suspension is similar to that of the Impreza, but the wheel height has been increased, along with modifications to the car's design to make it more maneuverable and stable at high speeds. However, the car's suspension is solid on unpaved roads, but it is one of the best cars in its class in terms of stability.

At first, the Subaru XV was struggling a bit in the used car market because it was a new car and the resale price was lower than expected, but with time the name of the car became well-known and the process of reselling it became easier and more valuable, and its owners did not suffer from the same difficulties in selling it, especially since it is a tall, stable and distinguished car in terms of safety, and it has proven to be a good success with large sales in Egypt in recent years.  

The car comes as standard with ABS, EBD, ESP brakes, four-wheel drive, hill start assist, dynamic vehicle control, front airbags only for the High Line version, side airbags and side curtains, making 8 airbags for the High Line. It also has an anti-theft system, disc brakes and aluminum wheels. The car also provides good protection for the driver and children and received 4 stars out of 5 stars in safety tests. Cruise control and sensors can also be installed in the car, but at the dealership as an additional option and are not standard in the factory. This problem is a bit of a flaw in the car due to the lack of some safety systems that can be installed as additional options.

It features a CD radio, power windows, climate control, and 15-inch wheels in the standard version, which comes with an AUX input, Bluetooth, and USB, as well as a 4-speaker audio system.

The High Line version features 16-inch wheels, a 6-speaker audio system, Bluetooth, tinted rear privacy glass, leather steering wheel upholstery, air conditioning, and an AUX input.

However, the main problem with this car when compared to its competitors is its lack of features, which has led to many buyers objecting to this. The newer 2018 model has been slightly revised, but buyers are turning to it primarily because of its dynamic all-wheel drive.
