Saipa Tiba 2009-2020

The Saipa Tiba is a small, economical Iranian sedan that first appeared in 2008. Known as the Minitour, its price was over $7,000 at the time, thanks to its production platform designed by Saipa itself. The car was sold in several markets besides Iran, including Egypt and Ukraine. Global production of the car ceased in 2022. The Saipa Tiba was launched by National Motors, the Saipa agent, in the local market in 2011 and 2012. It was then relaunched in 2014, and continued for a period of time. Initially, it was offered in Egypt at a price of 57,000 and 63,000 Egyptian pounds, and was available in two trim levels. It's considered a small, economical car, and the sedan version is offered in Egypt, excluding the hatchback version. It's offered in two trim levels, with a choice of luxury and safety features.

Despite the Saipa Tiba's simple and understated design, it retains its classic appeal and a fair degree of elegance, while at the same time offering a more refined level of design than the Saipa.

The car is available with a German technology 1500 cc 4-cylinder engine in a Euro 4 matrix with fuel injectors, producing 85 hp at 5700 rpm and 126 Nm of torque at 3600 rpm, and a 5-speed manual transmission. The engine oil capacity is 3.4 liters. The car runs on gasoline and the car has good fuel consumption, but it is not the best in its class. The car comes with a combined fuel consumption of 7.1 liters per 100 km and an extra-city fuel consumption of 5.8 liters per 100 km, and a fuel tank capacity of 41 liters. The car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 16 seconds, while its top speed is 160 km/h.

The car was certainly not designed to be a sports car or for high acceleration, as it is primarily a family city car. Therefore, despite its 1500 cc engine, it only produces 85 hp. The engine's response isn't very dynamic, as the car's acceleration is weak, and its top speed doesn't exceed 160 km/h. Its fuel consumption isn't the best in its class, but it ultimately delivers what's required in its class in terms of performance suitable for families at an affordable price. Its drawback is the loud engine noise.

The car is 4105 mm long, 1635 mm wide, 1484 mm high, with a wheelbase of 2415 mm and a weight of 1000 kg. The car features a spacious interior in the front and rear, providing comfortable seating without any problems. The rear bench can accommodate three average-sized passengers, while the rear trunk is a strong point, with a capacity of 450 liters. It has additional storage spaces in the front doors, and an additional storage drawer in the dashboard. However, the car's drawbacks are that its materials are average to weak, and are mostly plastic. The car is budget-priced, and therefore does not include any leather or other materials. The Saipa Tiba's cabin is equipped with many features, including air conditioning, a radio, a cassette player, and four speakers in the four doors. It also has manual seat adjustment, standard speedometers, temperature, and fuel gauges, levers mounted on both sides of the steering wheel, electric windows, interior reading lights, front seatbelts, and front airbags. The car's drawbacks are that the cabin insulation needs improvement, and the cabin sealing and materials are not up to scratch. Powerful.  

 

Spare Parts

Spare parts were considered well available at the dealership for the car when they were available, but at the present time, with the dealer stopping the car’s sale, its spare parts are not widely spread, and therefore its spare parts are now considered one of its main defects, especially for the external parts of the car’s body, such as bumpers, fenders, doors, etc., but other parts can be replaced with components and spare parts for some Korean Kia cars, whether from the suspension or the engine, specifically Kia Rio and Kia Pride spare parts, as external parts are replaced with Kia Sportage and Seat Sienna.

The car relies on a hydraulic power steering system and a height-adjustable steering wheel. The car's ground clearance is 17 cm, and this height of the car prevents friction with bumps. The car is also well-stabilized on the road, according to the experiences of its drivers.

Saipa Tiba did not achieve strong sales in the Egyptian car market and was much lower in sales than Saipa Pride due to the lack of good marketing and buyers' fear of Iranian cars that are new to the Egyptian market and that did not continue and stopped, in addition to the unconventional design. Therefore, there is a great fear among buyers in the used market from buying the car due to spare parts and their lack of availability in Egypt at the present time. Consequently, the resale of the car is very weak due to the spare parts and the lack of new offerings in Egypt and their lack of spread in the first place, while many people prefer to buy a used Chinese car rather than buying it due to its low price and low demand in the market.
