The Peugeot 407 is the modern extension of the Peugeot 400 family, having been preceded by the Peugeot 405 and Peugeot 406 ST models, which achieved great success in Egypt. The Peugeot 407 was first introduced in Egypt in 2004, where it was available in the Peugeot 407 SR saloon and Peugeot 407 station wagon versions. The car boasts a distinctive streamlined design and attractive colors. It is considered a large family car, produced by the French Peugeot company from 2003 to 2010. While coupe versions were available, only the station wagon and saloon versions were available in the Egyptian market. The car was manufactured in France and is considered a replacement for the 406 models, followed by the Peugeot 508 models, which are still in service today.

Peugeot 407 was introduced in Egypt in two versions, the first is a saloon with a 2000 cc engine with 138 hp, a 4-speed Steptronic transmission, 200 Nm of torque, and a sport driving mode. The 2000 cc engine is quiet and makes no annoying noise. It achieves fuel economy between 2000 and 3000 rpm and achieves good torque and response, but after 3000 rpm it can provide good sporty performance as it is a powerful engine and easily converts to power and good acceleration, which is achieved with the appropriate weight of the car. The engine is paired with a smooth, virtually trouble-free transmission.

The second version, the station wagon, comes with a 2200cc engine with 155 hp and 217 Nm of torque, both gasoline.

Diesel engines with a manual transmission are also available, including a 1600cc turbo engine with 110 hp and 240 Nm of torque. The drawback of diesel engines is the poor fuel economy in Egypt. Although diesel is somewhat economical to operate, its spare parts are very expensive compared to its gasoline counterpart. The manual transmission also enhances the car's sporty performance.

The car's fuel consumption is also economical, according to some reports, with an estimated fuel consumption of 10 km per liter, which is excellent for a 2000cc car.
