The Peugeot Pars is a re-creation of the famous Peugeot 405. It was introduced to Egypt in 2007 under joint production between Egypt and Iran. It was manufactured locally. A production contract was signed in October 2006, and a TU5 production line was set up in Egypt. The line's capacity was 3 cars per hour, with production reaching 5,000 cars per year in the first phase. The car's greatest success was in the taxi replacement project in Egypt, where it was the most expensive car sold in the replacement project. It achieved good sales under the project, albeit the lowest. Reservations for the car opened in April 2007 and it was delivered to buyers in 2008. The car's price was set at 90,000 Egyptian pounds, but at the time of its introduction, it was initially valued at 72,200 Egyptian pounds. It was manufactured in Egypt by the Arab Company for Industrialization until 2015, starting in 2008. The car was initially called the Peugeot Persia before its introduction to Egypt, but the name was changed to Peugeot Pars due to intellectual property rights. The car is also considered an improved version of the Peugeot 406, a four-door family sedan that seats five passengers. Outside Egypt, it was equipped with 1600 cc and 1800 cc engines.

Owners confirmed that the car is indeed fuel-efficient, especially for commuting, but some emphasized that the car requires higher-grade gasoline, such as 95 octane rather than 92 octane, for better performance.

The car delivers 107 hp and 142 Nm of torque, the same engine as the Peugeot 206, with a top speed of 187 km/h and the ability to accelerate in 14.2 seconds. The car is considered good in performance and achieves good speeds. Its powertrain is somewhat heavy, but the engine sound is good and not too loud, and there have been no complaints about the car's performance on various roads.

The car is 4.502 meters long, 1.720 meters wide, 1.460 meters high, with a wheelbase of 2.671 meters, and a curb weight of 1,220 kg. The car features good upholstery materials, an elegant dashboard, good interior materials, and good air conditioning, though not as excellent as Japanese cars.

However, some complain about defects in the car's interior finish, particularly in the manufacture of the seats, which are not sufficiently durable, and the poor quality of the seat belts. However, the design of the dashboard is good, albeit old and outdated, as are the steering wheel and gear lever. The car is considered good in terms of interior spaciousness and cabin insulation, with good upholstery on the doors, roof, and trunk. However, the roof may be a bit close and could be inconvenient for tall people.

Spare parts for the car were available at the time of its introduction at the previous Peugeot dealership and at authorized service centers, and to a lesser extent at spare parts dealers. However, spare parts are now scarce due to the car's discontinuation many years ago, and as a result, new spare parts are no longer imported for it. It is possible to obtain spare parts for other Peugeot models from dealers and import, especially the 405 models. Peugeot cars are known for their high spare parts prices, and spare parts for the 307 models can be installed on them as far as mechanical spare parts are concerned.

The car comes with a hydraulic steering system, and owners confirmed that the car is better than the Peugeot 405 Roi available in Egypt, especially in terms of the suspension, which was not as good in the 405 Roi and was better in the Pars. The car's suspension is similar to the 405's, including the struts, shock absorbers, and springs.

The car is characterized by stability on highways and at high speeds, especially in turns. The car is suitable for long-distance travel due to its well-known Peugeot features, but it is less comfortable in cities due to the harsh suspension. Many confirm that the car's most important feature is that it is heavy and stable on the ground.

The car is known for some advantages, including stability and good performance on the road, but it has some drawbacks related to safety, the need for higher fuel consumption, and some internal defects. The car is found in a medium percentage on car sales sites for sale, and the majority of it is in the form of taxis, while it is rarely seen in the used market. It is one of the cars that can be said to have an average resale value because the car is related to the famous Peugeot 405 and 406 family of cars, and therefore it is in demand and interested in the market. However, the majority of it is offered as taxis in light of the crisis that taxi drivers are currently suffering from. The lack of safety features in it may be a reason for the lack of demand for it and the search for newer models to work on with Uber and Careem.
