Peugeot 301 2012-2017

It's a sedan introduced in 2012 at the Paris Motor Show and continues to this day as a 2017 model before being developed into a new, updated version, which then appeared as a 2018 model. This car was manufactured at the company's factory in Spain alongside the Citroën C-Elysee. Production began in China in 2013 and in Nigeria in 2014. The first market in which the car was sold was Turkey in 2012, before sales began in other markets in West Asia, Africa, South America, and Western Europe. It was specifically designed for emerging markets and is not available in major Western European countries such as France or Britain.

It features an attractive, modern design with an elegant exterior that exudes French elegance, with some lines that add to its beauty, especially in the shape of the front of the car, with advanced LED headlights and streamlined lines that appear at the rear, along with the more attractive taillights with LED units.

Motor

The Peugeot 301's engine is a 1600cc, 4-cylinder, 16-valve, producing 115 hp at 6050 rpm and 150 Nm of torque at 4000 rpm. It delivers good fuel economy with a combined fuel consumption of 6.5 liters per 100 km and a fuel tank capacity of 50 liters. The car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 10 seconds and has a top speed of 188 km/h. It is available with a manual or automatic transmission.

The car performs well at low speeds, up to 100 km/h. It is not suitable for towing and running, as it is a compact sedan for city driving. Also, there is a need to press the accelerator pedal hard to gain traction and pull more forcefully when starting the car, especially with the air conditioning on. There is also noise from the engine that can reach the cabin.

The car is 4.442 meters long, 1.748 meters wide, 1.477 meters high, with a wheelbase of 2.650 meters. The car weighs 1,165 kg. The trunk capacity is 506 liters, and the main cabin can accommodate up to five adults. It is comfortable in both the front and rear seats, but it comes with fabric upholstery only. The trunk is also large, and the car is considered a family car equipped with the latest modern amenities.

The cabin features a three-spoke steering wheel, and the gauges are distinctive and simple, providing all the information the driver needs.

Spare Parts

60%

The car's spare parts are considered to be of average price, as they are neither too high nor too low to be said to be cheap. They are also available in a suitable manner in the agency and outside it. The prices of accessories in the car are high, and there are many accessories that are not available. There is also a recurring problem in some models related to the brake pads not remaining in service for a long period and the need to change them constantly, but work on such a car may not have any technician, and technicians must be chosen in the event of repair outside the agency who know or specialize in Peugeot cars.

Suspension

70%

The car achieves good stability at normal speeds. The car has great stability on the road and can handle curves well and steadily. The tires are stable on the road. It also comes with a comfortable suspension and shock absorbers that are able to absorb road bumps. However, there are some vibrations and instability at high speeds.

Resale

70%

It can be said that the resale value of the Peugeot 301 is neither distinctive nor weak. There are other cars in its class that the public may prefer due to the ease of availability of spare parts and ease of sale, but in the end it is not a difficult car to sell and it is well-presented in the used market and is widespread on car sales sites. The resale price is also good and the car does not lose much in resale, especially since it is a French car.

Security

60%

The car is equipped with ABS and EBD brakes, door reinforcements with side impact bars, and airbags for the driver and front passenger in the higher trims and for the driver only in the regular trims. It also has a remote central locking, child locks for the rear doors, front and rear seatbelts, and an ESP (Electronic Stability Program), but this system is only nominally present in the car catalog and is not available in practice. It also has a rear parking sensor and an immobilizer system to prevent the car from being stolen, but the company refuses to install an audible alarm system in the car, based on the presence of the immobilizer system.

Equipment

40%

It comes with electric seats, electric side mirrors, a good sound system with all entertainment features such as AUX input, Bluetooth, trip computer, front and rear electric windows, keyless entry, automatic air conditioning, and a sunroof. However, the car lacks a seat heating system, although it was included in the car catalogs, but it is only available in European markets. The car lacks many luxuries, despite being a French car manufactured in Spain. However, it seems that its targeting of developing markets made the company not consider adding many luxuries to the car. There are also no storage spaces in the car cabin, especially in the console for the phone in case the driver charges the car.
