The MG3 is a compact car manufactured by the Chinese company SAIC Motor. The first generation was marketed as the MG 3 SW in 2008, based on the British Rover Street Wace. The second generation was marketed in 2011 as the MG 3. The new generation debuted at the 2010 Beijing Auto Show as a concept car called the Zero. The new model had a 2.5-meter wheelbase, a McPherson strut front suspension, and a Touring Beam rear suspension. The car was manufactured in China and is one of the company's most popular vehicles sold in Europe, particularly in Britain. Engine options included a 1.3-liter and 1.5-liter engine with 91 and 107 horsepower, with a 5-speed manual or automatic transmission. The car was introduced in Egypt in 2012 in two trims: the first was priced at 90,000 Egyptian pounds, and the second at 105,000 Egyptian pounds. The car was available in Egypt starting in 2012 and continues to be a strong model in 2014.

The car is available in Egypt with two engines: a 1300cc engine with a 5-speed manual or automatic transmission, producing 87 hp, and a 1500cc engine with a 5-speed manual or automatic transmission, producing 107 hp and 135 Nm of torque. The car's automatic transmission is automatic with winter and sport driving modes, and it complies with Euro 4 standards.

The drawbacks are the loud engine noise at high speeds and when shifting gears, which transmits vibrations to the cabin. The car's performance is good and fast on the road, but the transmission is slow when shifting gears, making overtaking other cars a problem. Consequently, the transmission has some responsiveness issues, which can cause problems for drivers on the road.

The car also consumes more fuel, in addition to its increased carbon emissions.

The car is 4,018 cm long, 1,728 cm wide, and 1,517 cm high. The car has a well-fitted interior, better than many other cars in this class. However, there is a lot of rough plastic inside, such as the gear lever and door handles, which means the cabin isn't ideal. The steering wheel isn't adjustable, which makes it uncomfortable for everyone driving.

The car offers good visibility to the front and rear for the driver, with a well-positioned dashboard and easy-to-use buttons. There's enough space inside for four adult passengers, including good head and legroom. However, for five people, the second-row seating is cramped. The trunk space isn't large, and it gets even narrower when the spare tire is in place. However, additional space can be provided by folding the rear seats completely or in half.

Car spare parts prices are considered fairly average, but they aren't widely available due to the long absence of the car's previous dealership and the cessation of production of models before they were transferred to Al-Mansour Automotive. Parts are also available outside the dealership on a limited basis and are not widely available due to the car's lack of popularity in Egypt.

The car has an independent front suspension and a Torsion Beam rear suspension with HPAS power steering. According to its owners, the car is good at speed stability and the car body is easy to control with the car sticking to the road, but that is on normal roads. However, in the case of bumps and potholes, the car becomes unstable. The car's steering is heavy at low speeds, making it difficult to maneuver. However, the car can enter sharp turns accurately and there are no noises from the suspension while the car continues to operate on Egyptian roads.

The car is considered one of the popular youth cars and its price is not very high in the used market while at the same time it is available with many specifications in equipment and safety means, but its spread is not large in the used market due to its discontinuation for a long time and not being offered in Egypt except for a very limited period, but at the same time it is a car that lost its value quickly due to uneconomical fuel consumption and in addition to the problems of the previous agency that caused a scarcity of spare parts and many problems that made the car lose its value in the market, but as a car it is not bad in quality and equipment, but whoever buys it does not expect ease in resale.
