The Hyundai ix35 was introduced between 2009 and 2015. It is considered the second generation of the Hyundai Tucson. It was retired in 2015, and the Tucson name has continued to this day. The car debuted at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show, and was distinguished by its efficiency, comfort, power, safety features, and numerous equipment. It took 36 months and $225 million to develop.

The car has a distinctive, modern design and large dimensions, which have garnered significant interest from buyers, and it remains in good demand in the used car market to this day.

The car is powered by a 1600cc GDI engine with advanced fuel injection technology, generating 135 hp and 167 Nm of torque, delivering excellent engine response despite the car's high weight and height.

Fuel consumption is rated at 7.5 L/100km in the city and 5.8 L/100km outside the city, with an average of 6.4 L/100km. Like other SUVs, the car delivers high fuel consumption at high speeds, but at normal speeds, it offers good fuel economy. The car achieves average fuel consumption, so it's neither a fuel-efficient car nor a heavy user. This is due to the car's heavy weight and its high ground clearance.

It also comes with a 2.0-liter VVT engine with 166 horsepower. This 4-cylinder engine achieves a fuel consumption of 9 liters per 100 km and generates 197 Nm of torque. It's mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission and a permanent all-wheel drive system.

The car boasts good acceleration and strong traction. The engine's response is smooth and quick. The car is easy to drive, and the steering wheel and transmission are responsive. It's also a comfortable car.

The cabin is well-equipped and accommodates 5 passengers adequately. There are no 7-passenger versions. The trunk is spacious and holds a lot of items, and storage capacity increases by folding the rear seats.

The interior offers good visibility at all times, and the interior mirror has an auto-dimming mirror. The driver sits comfortably and at a good height to see the road, with a 6-way adjustable seat, a good headrest, and a telescopic steering wheel.

The cabin features comfortable seats, and the distance between the front and rear seats is sufficient. The cabin is well-insulated from engine noise, tire friction, and external influences. It also comes with a distinctive dual-zone air conditioning system, which is quiet and silent.

Spare Parts

60%

The car is distinguished by the fact that its spare parts are among the cheapest in its class, in addition to the spread of agency branches and service and maintenance centers for it, as it is one of the Hyundai cars that has many service centers spread for it.

Suspension

50%

The car also comes with good suspension, but it's not as soft as the suspensions of other competing cars, especially Toyota cars in the same class. However, other cars may also be less flexible than the IX35's suspension.

One of the car's most important advantages is its high ground clearance. The ground clearance allows it to handle bumps well and without friction. However, as we explained, the suspension is somewhat rough, which is considered a middle ground between cars that offer smooth handling of roads and bumps and other cars that are very rough.

The car is also stable on various roads despite its high ground clearance, and it is well-stabilized on curves and at high speeds.

Resale

80%

There are no complaints about the car in general that would affect its resale value. It has been very popular in recent years and remains in high demand in the used car market and can be easily resold.

The second-generation model has achieved the best sales, even though it is new and is considered the most popular model in the market so far. The ease of selling the car stems from its uncomplicated, practical nature and reasonable price compared to similar European and American cars.

Security

70%

The car achieved good results in crash and safety tests. It comes with strong, responsive brakes, but they are sensitive and require getting used to before adjusting the brake pressure. It is a capable car for parking well, with excellent power steering and rear parking sensors that facilitate parking. It also has a strong body and comes with ABS brakes, electronic stability control (ESP), a hill-start assist system (TCS), an engine immobilizer, airbags for the driver and front passenger, active front headrests that reduce the impact of impacts and move flexibly, and a rearview camera.

However, some customers complain about the daylight being constantly on during the day, which annoys many people and causes problems with other drivers.

Equipment

The first category comes with power windows, power mirrors, a power driver's seat, an iPod connection, a remote key, leather upholstery, a multi-function steering wheel, power steering, a CD/MP3 radio, and a trip computer.
