Fiat Palio 2004-2007

The Fiat Palio is a supermini hatchback based on the Fiat Sienna, with streamlined design lines. It was produced by the Italian company Fiat starting in April 1996 and continued in production until 2018. It was considered a global car suitable for different markets. It is suitable for small families and targeted developing countries. It was widely available in Morocco, India, Poland, East Asian countries, and South America. The Fiat Palio has been widely accepted in Fiat's main markets, particularly Eastern Europe, South America, and Asian markets, led by the giant Chinese market.

The Fiat Palio was manufactured in various countries and was based on the Sienna sedan platform. It also appeared in station wagon and pickup versions. The Fiat Palio was available in Egypt between 2004 and 2008. It is essentially the same car as the Fiat Petra, but with different colors, engines, and exterior touches.

The Fiat Palio was launched in Egypt in three versions. The Brazilian version was considered the new Palio when the car was launched in 2004. The Chinese version was considered the old version and was introduced before the Brazilian version, which was also launched in Türkiye. There are design differences between the Brazilian version of the Palio and its Chinese counterpart. The Brazilian version's design is more modern, both inside and out. However, the Chinese and Brazilian Palio share many similarities, and their interiors, which have become elegant and practical, have been enhanced with features that meet the demands of their owners.

Fiat introduced the Brazilian Palio with a 1000cc Fire engine producing 70 hp and 94 Nm of torque. Imports of the Palio were discontinued in 2006.

The Brazilian version of the Fiat Palio was also available with a 1300cc engine producing 80 hp and 112 Nm of torque. Imports of the Palio in Egypt were discontinued in 2006.

Then, Fiat introduced the Palio with a 1500cc, 4-cylinder, 8-valve engine producing 85 hp and 107 Nm of torque, mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. It was manufactured in China and imported from Italy. It comes with a 5-speed manual transmission and a 47-liter fuel tank. Fuel consumption is average and lower for the 1000 cc version, but increases for the 1300 and 1500 cc versions, reaching 6 liters per 100 km for the lower versions. Performance figures indicate that the car accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 12.4 seconds and has a top speed of 172 km/h. The car boasts good traction and acceleration, especially for the 1300 and 1500 cc engines, which are considered superior due to the car's size and light weight. There are no general complaints about the car's engine, but the drawbacks are related to the loud engine noise at high speeds.

The car is 3,763 mm long, 1,620 mm wide, and 1,440 mm high. The car also boasts a well-appointed interior, good interior finishes, and good materials, especially in the latest Brazilian version, with a distinctive dashboard. Indeed, the Palio's cabin boasts an interior environment characterized by optimal use of interior space. Storage spaces are available throughout the cabin, while the dashboard switches are arranged logically, with a sporty touch, including clear gauges and a center console with easy-to-use control switches that ensure the driver's attention isn't distracted from the road. Inside, the Palio's seats are very comfortable and come with good upholstery. There's also a center console with a radio at the top and a cigarette lighter at the bottom.

The rear trunk has a capacity of 290 liters and can expand to nearly 500 liters when the rear bench is folded down. The car's drawback is that the rear compartment is narrow, especially for the legs of those sitting in the rear bench, as the rear trunk is It's large, but it affects the passenger space in the back of the car.

Also, the air conditioning in the car isn't strong if you leave the car in the sun, but otherwise it's fine.

It shares spare parts with the Fiat Petra and Siena models. Spare parts are also shared with other Fiat models, especially mechanical ones, and can be found easily. However, the prices of accessory spare parts are high, and there are non-original Turkish, Chinese, and Taiwanese types that are cheaper. Most of the car's mechanical parts are original and expensive, but they are long-lasting. Fiat Palio maintenance is not widely available outside of Fiat specialists.
