Chevrolet Aveo 2008-2009

Chevrolet introduced its Aveo 5 hatchback to Egypt at some point. The most popular model in Egypt was the 2009 model, which attracted significant interest among hatchback buyers. It was offered in Egypt for 79,000 Egyptian pounds when it was introduced in 2009. It was made in South Korea, and its most popular models were from 2005 to 2009. However, the newer 2008 and 2009 models are available in Egypt.

The car was initially introduced in Egypt for 74,000 Egyptian pounds for the manual version and 85,000 Egyptian pounds for the automatic in 2010. The only automatic version was Korean-made, like the automatic Optra and automatic Cruze, unlike the automatic Aveo sedan, which is assembled in Egypt. Limited automatic versions of the car were introduced in Egypt before the dealership introduced manual models more widely, making them the norm in the market.

The car had a strong start in Egypt, but Many complained about the car's flaws and some malfunctions, which led many to advise against buying it, especially the manual version, while the automatic version received better reviews.

The car features a 1500cc four-cylinder engine with 83 hp at 5600 rpm and 128 Nm of torque at 3000 rpm. It comes with a 5-speed manual transmission or a 4-speed automatic transmission, with a top speed of 170 km/h and the ability to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 12.1 seconds. It has a 45-liter fuel tank and a front-wheel drive system. The car consumes 6.4 liters of fuel per 100 km.

The car's engine is considered somewhat fuel-efficient, but it consumes more fuel than other models in the same class. Some rumors of engine-related problems include relatively weak traction, which is disputed by another group of car owners, who assert that its traction is not bad, but rather better than models like the Lanos.

Among the car's shortcomings, according to some owners, are some problems with the transmission and the drums, without this being a major problem among owners.

The car is 3.920 mm long, 1.680 mm wide, and 1.505 mm high. It weighs 1,058 kg and seats five. It is a small car with an elegant and distinctive interior, offering good interior storage space. It also meets safety standards. It was introduced at a reasonable price, featuring a streamlined exterior design, good insulation that reduces noise entering the cabin, distinctive upholstery, and easy-to-access controls for the car's various systems.

Owners find the seats comfortable, especially in the front, but less spacious in the rear due to its being a hatchback. This makes it less spacious than the sedan version, but the trunk space is good. Overall, the car appears small from the outside, but it is spacious and comfortable inside, like a hatchback suitable for its class. It certainly won't be as spacious as a sedan.

Owners differ on the car's dashboard. Some find it ugly and outdated, while others find it elegant and good. Another drawback that some car owners emphasize is that the car's dimensions do not allow the driver to see well, but this is a matter of difference and relative importance.

Spare Parts

80%

It can be said that the availability of spare parts for the car is convenient and easy, given the widespread availability of Chevrolet Aveo spare parts in Egypt, both at the dealership and outside. It also has many spare parts similar to those for the Lanos, and its spare parts are reasonably priced, as it is not an expensive car and can be found outside the dealership at lower prices.

Suspension

60%

The car is considered one of the cars with good suspension and its high ground clearance makes it ideal for unpaved Egyptian roads. It comes with a McPherson front suspension. There is disagreement regarding the car's stability. Some find it very poor after 100 km/h and at high speeds, while others claim it is very stable even when reaching high speeds of up to 130 km/h. However, some complain of a rattling sound from the front suspension, which is a nearly universal problem.

Chevrolet's hatchback, the Aveo 5, hasn't achieved the same success as the sedan, but it is readily available as a used car. Compared to other cars like the Esperanza A113, Hyundai Getz, and Kia Picanto, many people prefer to avoid the Aveo hatchback due to its numerous problems and opt for other vehicles, in their opinion, that are better in terms of specifications, price, fewer problems, and ease of resale. Some claim to have lost a lot of money on the car within a short period of time after purchasing it.

Among the most common problems with the car, especially the manual version, are unjustifiably high engine RPMs, a problem that is almost universal, along with a slight rattling sound in the steering wheel, suspension, and brakes. These problems have led to a decline in used car sales and difficulty reselling, despite the many available models.
