The Egyptian Ministry of Interior has revealed the circumstances surrounding a video clip circulating on social media showing a driver hitting a girl while she was walking in 6th of October City, Giza, and then fleeing the scene. The video recently went viral on social media, showing the owner of what appeared to be a luxury white car swerving left toward a girl who was trying to cross the road, colliding with her, forcing her to the side of the road, and then fleeing the scene.

After examining the girl, it was found that no reports had been filed in this regard. When questioned, the girl’s father admitted that on June 30, 2025, while his daughter was crossing the road, a private car collided with her, and the driver fled the scene, causing her to suffer bruises and various wounds. He transported her to the hospital for treatment, but did not file a report.
A merchant with an expired license, who was involved in the video of the collision with the girl in October, was arrested.
The car and its driver, a merchant residing in the district of the police station, were identified and arrested. October had an expired driver’s license. When confronted, he confessed to committing the incident as indicated, and explained his escape by fearing legal accountability. Legal measures were taken.
