


Nissan introduced the Qashqai facelift models from 2020 to 2022, before introducing the current new generation of the car. It is a modified version of the second generation of the car, which was introduced in Egypt in 2017. The Qashqai facelift has significantly improved over its predecessor, including new trim levels and new luxuries, along with four technologies that were previously unavailable. Its initial prices ranged from 371,000 to 435,000 Egyptian pounds, up to 460,000 Egyptian pounds.
It has a beautiful and distinctive exterior design, based on the Nissan X-Trail platform. The Nissan Qashqai is a compact SUV with a good design and streamlined, sporty lines. The Nissan Qashqai is equipped with LED headlights. Daytime running lights improve visibility in all weather conditions and on all roads, while the front grille enhances the car's dynamics.
The car's latest price update before its discontinuation in Egypt came in four categories:
Visia EGP 389,400.
Acenta EGP 424,400.
Tekna EGP 451,400.
Midnight Edition EGP 460,500.

The car features a 1.2-liter, 16-valve, turbocharged, 4-cylinder engine mated to Nissan's X-Tronic CVT transmission. It produces 115 hp at 5,200 rpm and 165 Nm of torque at 1,750 rpm. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 12.9 seconds and has a top speed between 175 and 185 km/h. The car is front-wheel drive and consumes 5.6 liters of fuel per 100 km, according to official figures. It has a 52-liter fuel tank and runs on 92-octane gasoline.
As for the engine:
The engine is small in capacity and turbocharged, but the performance it provides isn't strong enough for a sporty car. Its figures aren't the best, at 115 horsepower and 0-60 mph in 12.9 seconds. This means the car's acceleration is slow and its performance is average and family-oriented, not sporty.
The CVT transmission is suitable for the car, but it's slow on the upswing. It then delivers optimal engine performance at normal and medium speeds, thanks to the harmony between the engine and transmission. However, at higher speeds, the car's responsiveness becomes problematic, both in terms of performance and acceleration. Ultimately, however, it's better than the transmission in the pre-facelift version, more responsive and smoother, and it's also fuel-efficient.
Although the transmission is smooth, it's not as smooth as a regular automatic transmission and isn't suitable for fast driving. The car's traction is also fairly good, but don't press the accelerator pedal hard, as it won't respond as expected. Therefore, you should press the gas gradually. The CVT transmission isn't suitable for heavy acceleration, so it must be handled carefully and maintained regularly.
There were previous engine and transmission problems in Qashqai versions, but these were addressed by modifying the transmission programming to resolve the problems in the second generation. The engine was also modified after previous versions and developed, eliminating the problems.
The car achieves fuel economy, with the official figure being 5.6 liters per 100 km, but in actual use, it ranges between 7 and 8 liters when driving at conventional speeds. Therefore, the car is economical to operate.
The car is 4,394 mm long, 1,806 mm wide, and 1,595 mm high, with a wheelbase of 2,646 mm. The interior features good quality materials, with plenty of flexible parts and a piano black dashboard.
The front seats are comfortable and offer good roominess, but less so than the competition. The driver's seat is very comfortable and has back support, and the seats are either fabric or leather. The rear seats are adequate for two people, and a smaller third person can fit in the bench due to the low transmission tunnel. However, seating three adults in the back will be uncomfortable due to the narrow bench. Legroom in the rear of the car is also fairly good.
Internal storage space is limited, but there is a spacious trunk in the rear. It's smaller in capacity than its competitor, the Renault Kadjar, but it's still a decent 430-liter capacity.
Sound insulation isn't very good; it's average, but better than the pre-facelift version, though not the best in its class. Wind noise is loud, but the noise is less noticeable.
The cabin features a movable steering wheel, traditional gauges with a small screen in the middle, and a fixed, rather than retractable, panoramic roof. The driving position is also high, making it easy to see around the driver, and the air conditioning is very powerful.
The car's drawbacks are the unconventional design of the interior, especially the dashboard and screens, with a traditional, outdated entertainment system, the narrowness of the rear seat, and the lack of interior storage space. However, some of these issues have been addressed with the addition of touch screens and smarter systems.
The car is reliable and has very few breakdowns. At the same time, its spare parts are cheaper than competing models and are widely available due to the car's popularity in Egypt, but they are more expensive than older or Chinese SUVs. The total periodic maintenance cost for the car when it was launched in 2020 ranged between 1,650 and 4,367 pounds, which is a reasonable price.
The car is reliable, has few breakdowns, and its spare parts are cheaper than competing models. It offers value for money, and its price is the lowest in its class, with more equipment. It is an economical car to operate. All these factors have given it a good resale market, with a clear spread and a good resale price, although it is lower than competing models such as the Hyundai Tucson and Kia Sportage. In addition, its resale prevalence is less than that of Korean models.
The car has very strong brakes and achieves a good level of safety, as it received 5 stars in the European safety tests, Euro NCAP, due to its many standard safety specifications adopted by the Japanese manufacturer, including anti-lock brakes (“ABS”), brake distribution systems (“EBD”), and BA to assist with the brakes, in addition to hill assist to help with slopes. The car's drawback is that the first two trims only have two airbags, while the higher trims offer six.

The car had problems in versions prior to the facelift due to malfunctions, but this changed in the facelift version, and some safety issues were resolved.
