The Hyundai XG is a model of luxury, both in exterior and interior design. It is a mid-size car that was manufactured from 1986 to 1996 under the name Grandeur and continued to be offered under the name XG. It is considered Hyundai's sales leader and has carried several names worldwide, including Azera. The car is still sold worldwide under the name Azera, but it was launched in Egypt in 2004 under the name XG.

The car was introduced in Egypt as a 2004 model as part of its third generation, which ran from 1998 to 2005. The first and second generations of the car were developments of a Mitsubishi model, but the third generation was developed as a completely independent car by Hyundai. The car shared its engines and production platform with the Kia Opirus.
