Faw X40 2017 - 2019 Review

The car comes with a 1.6-liter, 4-cylinder engine mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission, producing 114 hp at 5,500 rpm and 155 Nm of torque at 3,600 rpm. The engine is proportionate to the car's size, dimensions, and weight. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 11.2 seconds and reaches a top speed of 170 km/h.

The car boasts excellent fuel consumption and great economy, requiring only 6.5 liters of fuel per 100 km. The car also has a 50-liter fuel tank, allowing it to travel longer distances without the need for frequent refueling.

The car comes with a transmission with 13 operating programs and an automatic engine shutdown program when stopped. Fuel consumption can be reduced by 15% to 20%. The transmission is also designed to reduce engine noise through smooth operation, providing better reliability and longevity, along with efficient transmission, economy, and quick response. The car also offers acceleration with the Speed ​​Mode system, providing high reliability after long-distance use.

However, the car's performance, as the numbers show, is not great, as acceleration and top speed are limited. It is not a car suitable for quick launches, but is better suited for city driving at medium speeds. It leans more towards fuel economy, with only two-wheel drive available.

The car has a total length of 4,310 mm, a width of approximately 1,780 mm, a height of 1,680 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,600 mm.

The car's cabin accommodates five passengers, plus a luggage compartment of up to 375 liters. This capacity can be expanded to 1,525 liters by folding the rear seatbacks. It features a large rear trunk opening for storing large items and for easy loading and unloading.

The car offers comfortable seating, especially over long distances, and provides ample legroom. The distance between the front and rear seats is comfortable, and the high roof provides comfort for passengers' heads and shoulders.

The cabin has been carefully designed, combining elegance, luxury, comfort, and sportiness with plenty of equipment and luxuries. The car's modern touches are evident in the 7-inch information display, which is easy to use and allows for access to various functions. It also controls the audio system and connects a smartphone wirelessly via Bluetooth. There's also a 3.5-inch information display that displays information in front of the driver.

The car also features a large electric sunroof, manually adjustable leather seats, manual air conditioning, a USB port, push-button engine start/stop, a CD player, cruise control, and steering wheel controls.

The car is built with good materials, so there are no strange creaking sounds in the cabin.

The authorized FAW maintenance centers in Egypt are not large enough to cover all areas. The availability of spare parts for the car is primarily at the dealership, and it is difficult to find them outside of the dealership. The prices of spare parts for the car are also high, despite it being a Chinese car.

The car is stable in its ride and has excellent balance, thanks to its internal suspension components from BOSCH, which provide it with high maneuverability. These include a McPherson strut front suspension with a stabilizer bar, a rear suspension with a pivoting shaft, and a Power Steering wheel, providing professional balance and the ability to overtake.

The car's ground clearance reaches 180 mm, which helps it handle bumps on Egyptian roads and enables it to comfortably test some unpaved roads. This makes it similar to an all-wheel drive vehicle, despite being available only with front-wheel drive.

The X40's streamlined lines also reduce air resistance and provide stability on the road at high speeds and on highways.

The car's resale value in Egypt is not good, as it is a limited-circulation car, unlike other Chinese cars. Its dealership is not one of the large dealerships that care about advertising and marketing the car extensively, with few models offered in Egypt. Therefore, it has not achieved widespread popularity, making selling the car difficult for its owners, and its resale prices are low due to its lack of popularity and the difficulty of finding spare parts.
