Chana V101 2010-2011

The Chana V101 is a compact sedan suitable for small families. It belongs to the economical family saloon segment, and its design is similar to the Japanese manufacturer's Mazda 3. It was first introduced in 2010 at the Automac Exhibition with its agent, Modern Motors. This car was scheduled to be assembled in Egypt starting in 2011, but the Saudi Group postponed the Chana V101 assembly project at the Saudi factory in 6th of October City until the situation stabilized and security conditions returned following the January 25 Revolution.

The car was officially introduced in Egypt in 2010 at the following prices, but it did not last long:

The Chana V101 comes with a fuel-efficient 1.5-liter, four-cylinder engine that drives the front wheels. It generates 97 hp at 5,500 rpm and 137 Nm of torque from 3,500 to 4,500 rpm.

The Chana V101 belongs to the family economy sedan segment, and its design is similar to that of the Japanese manufacturer Mazda 3. The car's interior space is good, but the rear compartment is somewhat narrow, making it unsuitable for tall people. The luggage compartment capacity is 390 liters, increasing to 550 liters when the rear bench is folded down. The trunk is somewhat limited compared to cars in this class. The cabin closure is considered good by some, while others find it less than the expected quality and not as good as its exterior appearance. The car's materials are average, and some owners find them better than the Verna and Lanos, despite their similar price range. According to owners, the car's insulation is weak, and external noises can be heard clearly even when the windows are closed. The car has good air conditioning and a comfortable multi-function steering wheel. Some owners also confirm that it is better than closing the Chana Benny from the inside.

The service and spare parts centers for the car were considered the same as the Nissan and Suzuki service centers, but currently it is difficult to find good quality spare parts for it at the agency, which has become its former agent, because Chana no longer exists in Egypt.

The availability of spare parts for the car is scarce in the market due to the near-uncommon nature of this model. It is also difficult to find alternatives for similar and close cars in the Suzuki family, except for parts such as the suspension and brake pads for the Suzuki Baleno. Some spare parts are also available at Al-Harfiyyin and Al-Tawfiqiya.

The car is based on the same suspension as the Suzuki Baleno, and according to its owners, it comes with a soft and comfortable suspension on the road. The car's ground clearance is good, surpassing cars like the Hyundai Verna, making it slightly better at handling bumps in the road. Stability is good at medium speeds and less so at higher speeds. It is a good performing car, and its compact dimensions contribute to its stability on the road and ease of movement within cities, thanks to its streamlined appearance that gives it a sense of acceleration.

The Chana V101 is virtually nonexistent in the used car market in Egypt. This model was not a local success during its short introduction, and it also did not last long, limiting its potential for widespread use. Consequently, the car is scarcely available in the used car market, and even if rare examples do exist, sales will be slow due to buyers' lack of familiarity with the model.
